Pregnancy Screening

It is definitely good news to hear that one is expecting. However, it is also usually coupled with anxiety and fear. Parents often worry about the health of the baby and the mother.

We understand all your concerns and aim to guide you through the entire process of your pregnancy. With our full range of prenatal services, you may put your mind at ease.

Our Basic Antenatal Package Includes the Following Services:

Consultations with OBGYN

Dr Jen will meet with you and address all your concerns regarding the health of the baby and yourself. He will also listen to your preferences and devise a prenatal care plan and birth plan.

Routine Ultrasound Scans

Routine ultrasound scans are conducted to track the health and growth of the baby. These scans also allow us to identify any potential risks or complications early, so that timely and appropriate medical care can be provided.

Routine Vitamins

The health of the mother can affect the health of the baby. Hence, we will prescribe vitamins that will ensure the wellbeing of both the mother and baby. Additional hormonal pills may also be prescribed if the body is unable to secrete sufficient hormones to support the pregnancy.

We Also Offer Other Prenatal Screenings That Are Not Included In Our Basic Package

The OSCAR test is a first-trimester screening performed between 11 and 14 weeks of pregnancy. It combines a maternal blood test with an ultrasound assessment to evaluate the risk of the baby having chromosomal conditions such as Down syndrome (Trisomy 21), Trisomy 13, or Trisomy 18. This screening can detect approximately 85–90% of Down syndrome cases and helps guide decisions on further testing if required.

Amniocentesis is usually performed between 16 and 20 weeks of pregnancy. During this procedure, a small sample of amniotic fluid is collected and analysed. As a diagnostic test, it can confirm the presence of certain genetic disorders or chromosomal abnormalities. In selected cases, it may also help identify intrauterine infections.

Typically conducted between 20 and 24 weeks of pregnancy, this detailed ultrasound scan allows us to assess the anatomy of the foetus. In addition, it helps evaluate the baby's growth, examine placental position, and assess cervical status. Many major structural abnormalities can be detected at this stage of pregnancy.

CTG monitoring is usually performed from around the 36th week of pregnancy onwards. This procedure involves monitoring the foetal heart rate and the mother's uterine contractions over a period of approximately 30 minutes. It helps assess the baby's wellbeing and identify signs of foetal distress.

This blood test is performed on the mother and is an essential part of prenatal care. It screens for conditions such as anaemia and infections that could affect the baby, including Hepatitis B, Syphilis, and HIV, as well as checking immunity to Rubella.
