Pregnancy Screening

It is definitely good news to hear that one is expecting. However, it is also usually coupled with anxiety and fear. Parents often worry about the health of the baby and the mother.

We understand all your concerns and aim to guide you through the entire process of your pregnancy. With our full range of prenatal services, you may put your mind at ease.

Our

Basic Antenatal Package

includes the following services:

Consultations with OBGYN

Dr Jen will meet with you and address all your concerns regarding the health of the baby and yourself. He will also listen to your preferences and devise a prenatal care plan and birth plan.

Routine Ultrasound Scans

Routine ultrasound scans are conducted to track the health and growth of the baby. In particular, we can also identify if there are any risks or complications regarding the pregnancy and prepare ourselves accordingly.

Routine Vitamins

The health of the mother can affect the health of the baby. Hence, we will prescribe vitamins that will ensure the wellbeing of both the mother and baby. Additional hormonal pills may also be prescribed if the body is unable to secrete sufficient hormones to support the pregnancy.

We also offer

other prenatal screenings

that are not included in our basic package:

OSCAR Test

This test is conducted within the first trimester at 11-14 weeks of the pregnancy. This test is considered the most advanced and accurate test for assessing the risk of the baby developing Down Syndrome or other chromosomal disorders such as Trisomy 13 or 18, with up to 90% accuracy.

Amniocentesis

This test is usually conducted at 16-20 weeks into the pregnancy. In this test, a sample of the amniotic fluid is taken and analysed. This test will enable parents to determine whether their baby has certain genetic disorders or chromosomal abnormality. In this test, parents can also assess the maturity of the baby’s lungs and diagnose the presence of any intrauterine infection.

Foetal Anomaly Scan or 3D Foetal Anomaly Scan

This scan is usually conducted at 20-24 weeks into the pregnancy. Almost 90% of abnormalities can be detected with this scan. This scan will enable us to check the anatomy of the foetus, assess the progress of growth and examine the placental position as well as cervical status.

Cardiotocography (CTG)

This is usually done at the 36th week of the pregnancy. This procedure involves monitoring the foetal heartbeat as well as the woman’s uterine contractions. This procedure takes about 30 minutes. With this test, we will be able to detect any anomaly associated with the baby’s heart.

Antenatal Blood Profile

This blood test is conducted on the mother. This blood test will enable us to check for anaemia and infections that could harm the baby such as Hepatitis B, Rubella, Syphillis and AIDS.
